Volunteers are needed to pick-up injured/orphaned wild birds at East Lake Veterinary Hospital (10101 E. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, 75238) and drive them to Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Hutchins (approx. 10 minutes south of downtown Dallas). The birds will be in boxes and ready to travel! What's involved? Phone East Lake Vet (214-342-3100) in the afternoon to see if there are any birds needing transport, allowing just enough time to arrive at East Lake between 3:00 - 3:15 p.m., for delivery to Rogers Wildlife by 4-4:30 p.m. (This allows extra time should there be any traffic problems.) We're currently looking for a regular Monday driver, starting 4/18/16. If you're able to help, please e-mail Susan at bell-susan@sbcglobal.net Most drivers find it takes about an hour to an hour-and-a-half to complete a run. This is a wonderful program. In 2011, we transported over 1100 birds to Rogers Wildlife!
