Our new SPIN transition house is at 5 Ovebrook Terrace, Natick, off Rt. 9 westbound at the Wellesley-Natick line behind California Closet store.
Adults over 18
Visit Shelter for one shift a week or every other week. 2 hour shift in morning or evening. Clean cages, feed and water up to 12 cats and provide socialization and play time.
Under 18 (minimum age is 12)
Since we have no staff, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If you have an adult who would supervise you, we can set up a time to meet you and show you every thing. It takes about 1 hr. for a quick direct care training.
Times and Activities
AM: 8-10 or 9 -11 is when the most cleaning is needed. (Monday through Sunday)
Mid-day: Anytime from Noon to 4pm is spot cleaning and lots of socialization, playing, exercise for cats
PM 5-8 PM some cleaning (not as bad as mornings), socializing cats and sweeping and mopping floor at end of shift.
Direct Care can be a rewarding experience and Stray Pets In Need appreciates any amount of time you can volunteer. You can also go to our website www.straypetsinneed.info and fill in our volunteer application on-line.
We'll work with your schedule.
