Rape Advocacy, Counseling, & Education Services is looking for volunteers to staff our 24-hour crisis hotline. Volunteers of all genders are welcome, but must be atleast 18 years old. Volunteers must complete 40 hours of training and pass a DCFS background check. Trainings are held 3-4 times a year, and are scheduled over two weekends. Volunteers are asked to make a one year committment to work 2 shifts per month. Shifts vary in length and are self-scheduled by the volunteer.

The mission of Rape Advocacy, Counseling, & Education Services is to challenge the rape culture and empower victims and survivors of sexual violence through advocacy, counseling, education, crisis intervention, and activism. RACES also works with non-offending significant others, allied professionals, and the community at large to end all forms of sexual violence. RACES believes this work is inseparable from its commitment to end oppression in all forms.
Description
RACES provides a 24-hour crisis hotline, legal/medical advocacy, on-going counseling services, prevention education, and community training. All services are free and confidential.
