Tutors and Academic Mentors help students become more confident in their study skills and overall success. Students may need an academic mentor if they are are at risk of falling behind or failing a subject.
Volunteers will help students in the following ways:
Meet with a student one or two days per week. Subjects include math, science or English.
Volunteers will encourage students by being their advocate. The time commitment is one hour per week or more if the student and tutor agree to.
Tutoring takes place at the students school.

Mission Statement
LINKS (Looking Into the Needs of Kids and Schools) places caring adult volunteers as Lunch Buddy mentors, academic mentors, and academic tutors (1:1 and in groups)in schools. Volunteers provide guidance to students to support their academic and social development.
Description
LINKS volunteers work with students who are not meeting academic standards; work with students who do not have a positive roll model at home; help teachers and classrooms that have minimal to no volunteer resources; and work with English Language Learners (ELL) who need additional support to thrive in our public schools.
