Sit with our patients who may not be responsive and share your loving presence.

As I sit down next to a patient - I let go of my day, the stress and I am filled with an amazing sense of peace. I hold their hand, stroke their hair and play peaceful soothing music. During these moments I am present. This is a calling and when you are drawn to this work - you too will feel this peace and a sense of purpose - knowing you are helping others in need.

Assurance Hospice considers our Volunteers to be the heart of hospice. At Assurance Hospice you can choose to work directly with patients and their families, or offer your time and talents in other important ways. Whatever you choose, our goal is to make your gift of time with Assurance Hospice as fulfilling and satisfying as possible.

We offer Volunteer Training and supportive services to all volunteers. No one is ever asked to do anything beyond their emotional or physical capabilities.

We encourage those who have experienced a recent loss of a loved one to wait a minimum of one year before serving as a direct care volunteer.
