Do you live in southeastern Michigan and love cats and kittens? Or dogs and puppies? Consider becoming a foster care parent!

We are seeking fosters to provide loving temporary homes to dogs, cats, puppies and kittens who are waiting to find their forever homes.

Fostering is extremely rewarding and instills a great sense of accomplishment because you are giving a pet a second chance at life. Without foster parents, many pets would never get the opportunity to find loving forever homes. The more foster parents, the more lives that are saved.

Paws for Life Rescue will provide all medical care, food and supplies to care for the animal you foster. You just let us know what type of homeless pet you’re looking for: small senior dog, large breed puppy, pregnant mother cat, baby kittens? We’ll contact you to talk about a possible match and answer any questions before you bring a furry friend home.

Ready to apply? Visit https://www.pawsforliferescue.org/volunteer and complete the online volunteer application, liability waiver, and foster care application. Have more questions? Email info@pawsforliferescue.org and we’ll get you connected with a volunteer to answer any questions.

Paws for Life's mission is to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves; to rescue and rehome abandoned pets, matching animals and families to find the right fit for everyone and promising to exhaust all efforts to place adoptable pets in lifelong, loving homes; to promote humane education, spay/neuter initiatives and respect for all living things; to prevent and report cruelty to animals; to participate in disaster animal response; to improve the lives of animals and end the suffering created by puppy mills, animal fighters and backyard breeders; and to be a driving force, leader and champion for animal welfare in Michigan.

Description

Paws for Life Rescue and Adoption (PFL) is a 501(c)3, tax-exempt, not-for-profit animal welfare organization run by a group of hard-working, dedicated volunteers. PFL is an Adoption Guarantee organization that rescues homeless, neglected, abused and abandoned dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from overflowing shelters. PFL does not believe that time or money are acceptable reasons to end a life. PFL uses a network of loving foster care homes where animals stay until their forever homes are found. PFL's goal is to find the best homes possible for the homeless pets in our care. PFL operates under the philosophy of do no harm.

The organization focuses on humane legislation and education initiatives to permanently improve the lives, safety and future of companion animals in Michigan and surrounding areas. PFL has no paid staff and receives no government support. Every penny donated goes directly to the animals in our care, paying vet bills and purchasing needed supplies.

In addition to rescue, PFL devotes resources to numerous local and national humane campaigns, such as End Dogfighting, Community Cat TNR and Eliminating Puppy Mills, as well as participation in community and national Disaster Animal Response Teams.
