Mission Statement
The mission of the Harbor House of Rochester, Inc. is to become the best support to families for temporary lodging needs during health emergencies and for periods of long-term care. Its plan is to be more than a great series of hospitality houses. The plan is to create an environment of safe and supportive living that eases the burdens on families during these difficult times. The House(s) will provide a home away from home for patients and their families who must travel to the Rochester area for treatment of serious or life-threatening illness. By offering this convenient, affordable housing in a home-like environment, Harbor House will reduce the emotional and financial stress for people facing medical crisis while temporarily residing within our family-oriented, compassionate Rochester community.
Description
Harbor House is located just two short blocks from Strong Memorial Hospital. It has four rooms, two kitchens, complete laundry facilities and can hold up to nine guests. This is an adult only home. Our target guest is someone who will be staying for a week or more, but we will accept guests for shorter periods based on availability. We target families of heart, liver and kidney transplant patients, but welcome family members of any with a serious medical condition.
