The McIntire Department of Music at the University of Virginia is actively seeking volunteers to help us digitize and archive our publicity and program materials. These volunteers will report to the Director of Promotions for a minimum of 6 hours per month . Training for the position will be provided. The department is located in Old Cabell Hall on the central grounds of the University. Volunteers receive complementary tickets to department events.

Mission Statement
The McIntire Department of Music at the University of Virginia hosts over 100 events in the academic year. Degree programs are available in the following areas: Performance, Critical and Comparative Studies, Composition and Computer Technologies, and Music Encoding Initiative.
Description
As a volunteer for the McIntire Department of Music you will meet and work with people who bring unique gifts and enthusiasm to their work. Our volunteers come from many diverse occupations and backgrounds and are pursuing different goals, but they share a common interest in music and an appreciation for the many programs that are produced by the McIntire Department of Music.
Volunteer positions are both challenging and rewarding experiences that foster personal, professional and intellectual growth. Volunteer opportunities are available for regular assignments as well as on-call opportunities for special events such as concerts, lectures, fundraisers and receptions.
