We are a non-profit and multi-cultural arts organization and are dedicated to promote, present and preserve African and indigenous cultures of the world through music, art, dance, science, and food. We are located in Balboa Park, close to and down from the world famous, San Diego Zoo.

OneWorld Cafe supports the Music and Cultural Programs organized and hosted by the WorldBeat Center. Run by volunteers and headed by Master Vegetarian Chef- Makeda Cheatom. She owned and operated San Diego's first vegetarian restaurant 'The Prophet' where celebrities such as The Beatles and Bob Marley frequently visited to relish her healthy recipes. We bring the produce from our own Organic Peace Garden to the table. You will have wonderful opportunities such as to learn Cultural Vegetarian food preparation, contribute in hosting events, run and operate a vegetarian cafe, product pricing, purchasing, accounting and marketing the cafe.

One WorldBeat Cafe will help you gain customer service experience in a diversity driven and culturally rich setting. You can enjoy a mix of activities on fast paced day while serving individuals and groups visiting the center or a relaxed day with more of back end learning about cafe operations. Serving hundreds of guests during our ongoing community events will make you confident about handling large groups at ease and serve with a smile. If you are looking to utilize your kitchen skills or gain experience in the kitchen and food service, this is the internship for you!
