Imagine 10,000 people of all colors, sizes, ages and rhythms dancing down Broadway to a city Park for a 4 hour free festival...
It happens every year, a week before Memorial Day, and you can help make it so!
Searchng for some passionate self-motivated people to take on leadership roles as we plan for the 2018 Dance Parade & Festival. As a volunteer supported organization we look just like this life-celebrating event. If you can spare 5-10 hours a month, we encourage you to join this wonderful organization!
Right now, we're especially looking for:
PARADE LIAISONS
You'll recruit, communicate with, and coordinate individuals and dance groups participating in the parade. You may be interested in a particular style, ethnicity or area of dance. An active presence in any NYC dance scene is helpful, but not necessary, as you'll soon help us reach out to the dancers you want to bring in.
FINANCE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
In coordination with the Executive Director, use the Board certified budget to monitor funds and create Winter and Spring financial forecasts. Help track Account Receivables and keep an eye on the big expenses.
STAFF & VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT
You'll get the best people for the job! Involves representing the parade at fairs, festivals, symposia and networking opportunities and matching volunteers skills with the appropriate committees.
SOCIAL MEDIA GURUS
Post and tweet about all the fabulous stories found behind the scenes and on parade day
WEBSITE OR TECH-SAVY FOLKS
Join the web committee as we develop Dance Parade Worldwide's new website.
PARADE & FESTIVAL PRODUCTION
From curation to stage management to sound and vdeo production and tech, this committee helps bring together over 80 unique styles of dance in the parade. As the parade ends, DanceFest in Tompkins Square Park comes alive on 5 stages.
