Are you looking for fun and engaging volunteer opportunities?
Community service is more than something that will look good on your high school or college resume. You can develop new interests, make new friends, and if you’re really lucky, maybe even a lifelong career.
Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian agency based in Marlton, NJ caring for people suffering from serious, progressive illness and grief.
If you want to volunteer regularly or just need a specific number of hours we have what just what you need!
SamariTeens, our ongoing teen volunteer group, meets in Marlton and Voorhees, NJ one evening per month rotating locations, from 6-7:30pm, to make crafts for our patients and families to help bring some joy to their day. We occasionally visit assisted living residences to play games with the residents.
You also have the opportunity to represent Samaritan at teen volunteer fairs by manning an information table, participate in fundraisers, collection drives, and support annual events.
Those of you 16+ might enjoy helping serve dinner to the homeless and underprivileged community at Cathedral Kitchen in Camden on the 2 nd Tuesday of each month (age requirement is theirs) from 3:45-5:15p.
The cool thing? There are no mandatory requirements - you attend as many activities that fit your schedule and that you’d enjoy.
Don’t have time for group participation? Just need some service hours? We offer Independent Projects like crafts, fundraisers, and collection drives. Anything you do directly supports our patients and their families. If you belong to a club, I am also available to come to meetings, talk briefly about Samaritan and why the projects are so meaningful, and participate in projects selected by the students.
Choose one or multiple projects and work on it at your leisure. Projects may be delivered to our administrative office in Marlton. Occasionally I can come to pick up the projects as well. An application is not needed to work ONLY on independent projects unless you would like us to keep track of your hours of service.
There are NO mandatory requirements, participate in as many activities that fit your schedule and that you'd enjoy. All activities count as community service!
We'll work with your schedule.
