Office Volunteers- Well suited for retired secretaries, school workers and others with a background in an office setting and attention to detail.
Well suited for teens and college students looking for professional experience and understanding of what it takes to start a career.
Friendly Visitor Volunteers- Well suited for anyone who loves people! Such as retirees who enjoy having someone to care for & connect with.
Well suited for college students who are looking for resume experience in areas such as: pre-med, nursing, social work, mental health counseling, education, recreation and physical therapy, spiritual callings
Bereavement & Vigil Volunteers- Well suited for those with personal or professional experience with end of life, big emotions and big questions.

Mission Statement
The mission of ProMedica Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy as well as support to their caregivers. Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team such as Nurses, Social Workers, Chaplain and Volunteers, utilizing an approach to the care delivered to patients either in their own home or extended care facility.
Description
At ProMedica we depend on our hospice volunteers to help us provide the love, respect and care our patients and their families need. Some volunteers interact directly with patients and families while others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. As a volunteer you would help us decide which tasks you are comfortable performing.
*We suggest that volunteers make appropriate adjustments after significant loses in their lives and wait a minimum of one year following the death of a loved one to volunteer.
ProMedica Hospice serving Mid-Michigan has branches located in : Midland, Mt. Pleasant, Bad Axe, West Branch and Flint.- Please call and ask for your local Volunteer Coordinator for more information.
