Hermann Park Conservancy has formed a working relationship with RSVP of the Texas Gulf Coast. The Conservancy is a citizen's origanization dedicated to the stewardship and improvement of Hermann Park. Volunteers are needed in a variety of ways to increase the park's visibility, accessibility, and usuage as well to teach the public the importance of conserving green space. Volunteers are vital to the success of such programs as the John P. McGovern Golf Tournament, the Park to Park Run, and Holiday Lights in Hermann Park. Volunteers to prefer to work indoors can do so in an administrative capacity.
RSVP's mission is to provide opportunities for individuals ages 55 and above, to engage in service that addresses the nation's educational, public safety, environmental, and other human needs to achieve direct and demonstrable results and to encourage all seniors to engage in such service. In doing so, RSVP will foster civic responsibility, strengthen the ties that bind us together as a people, and provide educational opportunity for those who make a substantial commitment to service.
RSVP is a gateway for volunteerism in the community. RSVP provides many free benefits including free volunteer insurance, learning opportunities, and volunteer recognition.
