Many older adults in our community love the tast of a home cooked meal but don't have the physical strength or energy to prepare a complete, nutritious meal. That's where you come in!
We will partner you with an older adult who needs some assistance in the kitchen, and you will arrange a visit once a week to help prepare a meal or two. The older adult will provide the cookware, workspace, recipe, and food--you simply provide the energy and the company.

Description
Jewish Family Services is a health and human services agency serving families within the Delaware community for over a century, improving people’s lives and life prospects. With offices in Wilmington and Newark, JFS offers counseling, care management, youth development, and communal services to people without regard to race, ethnicity, or religion. Volunteers with JFS primarily serve older adults through Brandywine Village Network. BVN, for short, is an aging in place program designed to help older adults remain living at home independently. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for activities and schedules that best fit their interests and availability.
