Warm and fuzzy comfort wanted!
Certified Pet Therapists are needed to visit our hospice patients. Many of our patients are pet loving but have either had to give up their pets or lost them and pet therapy visits can in the last months, weeks and days of their lives bring special moments that can not be replaced. This is a different experience then just wondering through a skilled nursing or assisted living unit with your pet. Our volunteers get the opportunity to bond with our patients and get to know them and possibly their families. Visits can help patient reminisce about the pets they have loved. Pet therapy can also help with pain reduction and relieve anxiety. Also, learn about end of life and grief issues. Volunteer in your community at a time that fits your schedule.
