Join GGO Event Planning Team: 2 Events coming up w/ openings for Event Volunteers and Event Planners!
Do you chomp at the bit with your enthusiasm and skill at:
Data management and Online program Enthusiast
Social media promotion, Marketing
Help in advance of events and volunteer at event, as needed.
The next event will be planned now, for July 27th. You'll participate in advance planning and at the event.
Have such a good time succeeding at this that you'll be a regular GGO Event volunteer.

Help promote
Tasks and deadlines assigned by Event Chair.

  • Confirm who is assigned to which tasks.
  • Raffle & Auction: achieve auction & raffle items with GGO Item donation form.
  • Track businesses you contact on a google doc online.
  • Refreshments donations: solicit food, hors d'houvres and wines donations. Contact restaurants and wineries by phone, email the form or bring it to them; follow up phone call, See that the business emails or mails the filled in form to GGO, Confirm if item or certificate will be mailed, or when we pick it up?
  • Marketing: Participate in Social Media promotion, FB invitation,
  • Publicist written PR: Call and email media.
  • ONLINE PR Volunteer: Great on internet? Enter event details on ONLINE MEDIA EVENT CALENDARS.
  • Graphic Design: design flyer, poster, invitation, certificates, signage to be displayed at the event.
  • Grass Roots Marketing: Invitation printing: Post card/flyer: all team receive and keep materials with you to hand to others, or help with a mailing, distribute to various businesses and organizations.
  • Day of the event: Volunteers pick up donated refreshments, drinks and items and bring to party location. Event char will specify times and tasks.
  • Day of the event: help set up and decorate, arrange flowers, Greet Guests, Sign in on registration list.
  • Display refreshments, help serve and pour
  • Enjoy the live opera performance!
  • Help Clean up
  • Make an impact - a beautifully planned event, concert, & reception builds festival relationships in the community. You and guests get to meet the opera singers up close & personal while enjoying gorgeous views and music.
  • Achievement: help fund a bullying prevention opera for schools, opera-tunities for at-risk youth to experience this art form, help the opera company contribute to our community.
  • Send Thank you notes to host, performers, attendees, refreshment donors, and volunteers: building relationships.
  • Achievements; present exclusive events in private homes, restaurant or theatre: complete tasks and participate in your favorite Event Planning skills.
  • Result: letter or recommendation; beef up your resume with professional event planning experience. Recognition on GGO Web site.
You are very important and build our company with people who have a good time and experience live opera through GGO!
Build audience and professional relationships:
Funds raised help us plan our season, arrange sponsored tickets for low-income groups; Funding for unique Bullying Education Opera for schools, The Emancipation Project 2019 new work going into Middle and High Schools: President Lincoln and how three African American close personal friends and 2 Gospel Songs influenced him to sign the Emancipation Proclamation.

Mission Statement

Golden Gate Opera is dedicated to sharing the joys of the myriad of fine arts found in live professional opera with people of all ages, cultural and economic backgrounds to enrich lives. We inspire a better life, through first rate performances and educational programs. We develop careers for emerging professional talent - singers, designers, directors and conductors through performances in the theatre, Aria Parties in private homes, In-School programs, plus Field Trips to the opera for K-12 school student groups. We arrange for low-income groups and senior communities to experience this art form, especially where they can in no other way experience this than that we bring it to them.

Description

Golden Gate Opera, (GGO) proudly celebrates its 28th Anniversary year in 2023, Transforming lives with Opera . Winner of National Endowment for the Arts and California Arts Council Grant Award, 2016 for premiere of "Lincoln-The African American Connection", 2017 -West Coast Premiere of Anti-Bullying one-act for children - Menotti's "The Boy Who Grew Too Fast". GGO professional singers collaborate with children choruses and Musica Marin chamber orchestra of musicians from SF Opera, SF Symphony and SF Ballet for glorious realization creating a better life for children. Volunteers help with auditions, marketing, refreshments, graphic design, greet audience and guests.
