Volunteer for Heartland
Volunteering is Powerful

Heartland Hospice cares for terminally ill patients in Calhoun, Eaton, Hillsdale, Ingham, and Jackson Counties who reside either in their own homes or in facilities. Our volunteers are "friendly visitors" who visit patients on a regular basis or help out in our Mason office.

For further information call Lori Case at (517) 244-0404.

....do you have 6 hours per month to help raise the quality of life for a terminally ill person in your own town? You'll be blown away by how enriching this experience is!

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life we encounter. A strong component Heartland's team approach to hospice care is our volunteer program that offers human-to-human enrichment to the patient and the patient's family in providing this hospice benefit.

Description

Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that the last days may be spent with dignity and quality at home or in a home-like setting. It is the goal of Heartland Hospice to provide palliative and supportive services to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs to the patients and caregivers in the home, health care facilities, or other residential settings. These services will be provided without regard to race, religion, gender, creed, sex or ability to pay.
