We are looking for seasonal volunteers to help their neighbors with minor lawn maintenance, raking, and snow shoveling.
Even 20 minutes can make a difference, and is a great group opportunity! Help keep lawns clean, have access in and out of their home in winter, prevent flooding, and add color to their view. All supplies are provided for each project.
- Assignments are flexible to your schedule and interests
- Training and coordination by Hearts and Hands professional staff
- Volunteer Liability Insurance and Mileage reimbursement available through Hearts and Hands
- No set long-term commitments
Every request you take helps your community and allows your older and physically challenged neighbors remain an active and valuable member of our community!
It’s easy to get started, just attend a training with your local office, submit your background check, and about two weeks after that you can start your meaningful experience with Hearts and Hands.
Make a difference and volunteer today!

Mission Statement
Hearts and Hands connects caring volunteers with older adults by providing transportation, in-home supports, and caregiver respite to uphold their dignity, improve their quality of life, and enhance their ability to live in their home of choice and to assist their primary caregivers.
Description
Hearts and Hands is a non-profit organization that matches caring, reliable volunteers with older community members who have essential needs, like transportation, to ensure that they can continue living independently. The organization, founded in 2003, provides services to underserved areas in Western New York. Our program is a best efforts and no charge delivery of services.
Our focus is on services that enhance nutritional status, foster socialization, increase physical activity, and provide access to medical, dental and other health services. If we cannot provide a requested service, we will refer that request to an agency that is able to meet the need. We work closely with the Alzheimer Association, Meals on Wheels, the Erie Co. Dept. of Senior Services, the local first responders and other area service providers. Currently, the organization serves Erie and Eastern Niagara Counties.
