San Diego County Library offers a 'Service Learner' program for youth ages 12-17. Service Learning is different from volunteerism in that it is a teaching and learning approach that integrates community service with academic study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities. A minimum of 6 hours of service is required.
Teens are needed to help with programs, sort and shelve books and library materials, decorate children's and teen areas, create displays, and more!
