The Orange County Regional History Center is looking for friendly and responsible high school teenagers, ages 15 - 17 to help with Adventures in History Summer Camp. This is a great way to earn community-service hours.
SHIFT: Volunteers must be available for 2 full weeks of summer camp. Shifts are Monday - Friday.
AM 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
PM 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
DUTIES: Assist teacher and children with camp games, crafts, activities, breaks, museum exploration, and offsite field trips. Follow all classroom rules and serve as role models.
DEADLINE & REQUIREMENTS:
Email teacher’s letter of recommendation to Diane.Masciale@ocfl.net
After receiving link, complete online application with guardian.
MANDATORY attendance Summer Camp Orientation. May 13 or May 20. (10am - 4pm)
MANDATORY attendance background screening appointment date as required by Orange County and the state of Florida.
To help ensure the safety and well-being of campers and staff, we follow current Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), state, and local guidelines which as necessary, this may include:
- Implementation of social-distancing strategies
- Intensified cleaning and disinfecting
- No-contact curbside drop off and pick up
In addition:
- Classroom and education spaces are not accessible by the public

Description
The Orange County Regional History Center is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and a member of the American Alliance of Museums. The History Center includes a museum in a historic courthouse, the collection of the Historical Society of Central Florida, the Joseph L. Brechner Research Library, and Heritage Square park. It advances its mission through wide-ranging programs, permanent and traveling exhibits, and limited-run exhibitions from other prestigious institutions.
