Position Title:

Volunteer Management Team - Chapter Response to Large Disaster Specialist. Ensures effective involvement of volunteers by evaluating the chapter's human resources, estimating the number of subsequent staff/volunteers necessary to respond to the disaster, implementing a call down of chapter volunteers to meet staff needs, and integrating visiting employees and volunteers into the disaster response plan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of a spontaneous volunteer management plant and implement during times of large scale disasters
• Welcome and integrate visiting staff and volunteers into the disaster response
• Register vehicles of visiting volunteers and staff
• Provide a brief orientation to those responding to the disaster event
• Activate mutual aid agreements with neighboring chapters
• Implement the spontaneous volunteer plan
• Activate a Volunteer Match account
• Work closely with the service area's DSHR senior associate to discuss the status of the disaster event and determine next steps
