BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS PROGRAM: In this STATEWIDE mentoring program, the volunteer is matched based on their preferences, interests and location, with a child between the ages of 6-17 coming from a single-parent household. The volunteer and child get together two to four times a month (after school or on the weekends) to do things that they both enjoy. Activities can include taking walks, playing sports, helping with school work, cooking together and/or discovering new interests. The goal of the friendship is to expose the young person to new learning experiences and to help them reach their highest potential. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
