The Friends of Santa Monica Public Library is a dynamic organization supporting the Library through fundraising and volunteer activities. Its purpose is to increase public interest in the Library by focusing attention on the Library's facilities, services and needs; to encourage gifts, endowments and bequests for the enrichment of the Library's collections; and in other ways to contribute to the cultural life of Santa Monica.
If you love books or have ever wanted to work in a bookstore or at the Library, volunteer at the Friends of the Library Bookstore. You'll help the Library and have fun at the same time. You will help customers, work with books, and interact with the people who love them.
No experience necessary. Weekly 3 hour shift, six month commitment expected. Bring your great attitude and smile. We welcome volunteers who are 18 years and older, people who are working, not working, going to school or who are retired. You will be trained.
