Our Home Delivery Program delivers groceries to 200-250 homebound residents. These deliveries can happen anytime between 8:30am-3:00pm. Our delivery drivers are in a unique position; since our grocery recipients are homebound, many of them look forward to receiving a visit from our delivery drivers. Many of our drivers are long-term volunteers and have developed connections to people they would not have met otherwise. Not only are our drivers helping to combat hunger, they are largely helping to brighten the days and lives of our clients. Regular drivers come to the food bank, pick up groceries, and deliver them to residents using their own vehicles. Drivers take the same delivery route to the same clients each week. Most of our routes deliver an average of 10-12 bags to several units within one apartment building, though some of the routes deliver to a few addresses within a few blocks of each other. We're currently looking for drivers who can commit to a weekly shift as well as a driver who can commit to a shift every other week! Can't commit to a weekly shift? We're always looking for drivers who can fill in as subs!
