Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Access Care Partners (Formerly WestMass ElderCare)

  • 15 people are interested

An Ombudsman visits residents of area nursing homes every week to hear their concerns. The ombudsman helps to promote the belief that each person has the right to a quality life, and that this right should be protected.

S/he works closely with the Program Director to receive and investigate complaints, in confidence, on behalf of residents, their families and other interested parties. Ombudsmen also provide information and referral to connect people with avaliable long term care and community resources.

This is a federally sponsored program through the Older American's Act under the supervision of the State Ombudsman in Boston. Orientation and training by the State Office in the local area is provided. Ongoing training, supervision and support are provided by the Program Director.
