The mission of the 5th Circuit Florida Guardian ad Litem Office is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy in Lake, Sumter, Hernando, Citrus, and Marion counties to ensure that every abused and neglected child can be safe and establish permanence.
As a Child Advocate Volunteer, you will help make a profound difference in the lives of young children that have been abused, abandoned or neglected. As a specially trained and certified advocate, you are appointed by a judge to fight for each child's rights and ensure that they are well cared for and able to have a safe, loving and permanent home.

Description
Community volunteers are recruited to represent children who find themselves involved with the judicial system. A small staff helps volunteers ensure that a child's needs are met. Volunteers help create permanency and consistency in the life of a child.
