ORGANIZATION: RSVP of Snohomish County

  • 5 people are interested

That's what your get with this short term volunteer opportunity at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) raises money for its program at the Fair every year renting strollers, wagons, wheelchairs and scooters to Fair goers.

RSVP rents this equipment at each entry gate at the Fair. The shifts are 4 hours long starting at 10 am. On Friday and Saturday night the last shift may be there until 11. You would be taking money, making change, holding ID's or licences as deposits, making sure the paperwork is filled out correctly, wiping down the equipment as needed and charging the electric power chairs when required. There will be an RSVP representative on the grounds at all times.

The work is mostly talking to people who are there to have a good time. You are outside, usually, in the warm weather getting fresh air and helping people have a good time.

Volunteers get free parking and a free pass to the Fair. You get a chance to help RSVP, help the Fair goers and help yourself to a free ticket to Fair by volunteering. There is training in August on the Fairgrounds. The Fair starts Thursday Augusts 23 and runs until Monday September 3rd.
