Second Chance for Animals - a not-for-profit organization - supports the Franklin Township Animal Shelter, a municipally run shelter, located in Somerset, NJ. Volunteers assist with the animals in many ways including:
Animal Care Givers, Groomers
Adoption Assistance
Cleaners (cages, dog runs, laundry, etc.)
Dog Walkers
Foster Care
Animal Socialization
Animal Transportation
All volunteers attend a New Volunteer Orientation and we also hold Dog Orientations if you want to work with dogs. Training and assistance is provided for volunteers.

To prevent cruelty to animals by facilitating the adoption of homeless animals through community outreach, educational programs, participation in adoption days, and by improving conditions in animal shelters and pounds and by supporting animal health initiatives such as spay/neuter and vaccination programs.
