What could be better than spending time with a child who needs you? Preschool aged children enrolled in the Head Start/preschool progams at CPCD need volunteers to spend one-on-one time with them. Volunteers are crucial in encouraging children to learn, serving as positive role models, and helping the children develop social skills. Volunteers can read books, help with classroom activities, outdoor play, have lunch with the kids, play games, and more! All volunteers receive training, support, and recognition. Volunteers are needed Tuesday-Friday during daytime hours. Schedules are flexible with no minimum commitment of hours/length of service.

Description
CPCD is committed to the comprehensive early childhood development model, which is at the basis of its successful Head Start and Early Head Start programs. CPCD serves just under 2,000 prenatal through five-year-old at-risk, low-income and special needs children and their families. We operate classrooms in six school districts. Our two generation approach provides parents with education, services and training to help them be their child's first and best teacher. Community volunteers 12 and older join us year round to change the lives of our most vulnerable citizens.
