Aquarium Guides are stationed throughout the galleries to interpret exhibits by offering educational information about the habitats, animals and plants to visitors. Being an Aquarium Guide is a combination of correct educational information and good customer service.
Two 4.5 hour shifts are available Monday thru Sunday 9:00am to 1:30pm or 1:30pm to 6:00pm.

We are a non-profit freshwater aquarium dedicated to freshwater ecosystems, the Tennessee Aquarium focuses primarily on the Tennessee River and related systems. Since opening its doors in 1992, the Tennessee Aquarium has played a crucial role in Chattanooga’s economic development efforts and has become a nationally acclaimed attraction. Within our two buildings, you’ll trace the path of water from the mountains to the sea. Come face-to-face with the fascinating native animals that live in our backyards and the amazing creatures that thrive in some of the most remote locations on Earth.

- Orientation or Training
- Commit to one full year of service and volunteer one 4.5 hour sift each year.
- Must attend 6 training sessions, participate and pass and Aqua Assessment at the conclusion of the training course and be available to begin volunteering within 1-3 weeks after training.
