Crisis Help Line Volunteer--Provide crisis intervention and referrals to people who have experienced rape, physical, emotional, verbal, and/or sexual abuse. Volunteers provide emotional support and crisis intervention to those who call the Crisis Helpline. Referrals are often given to assist callers with needs such as emergency shelter, legal assistance, food, and/or individual therapy or support groups. Volunteers answer the line from their own homes and work (6-12 hours) a month. Local residents of the St. Louis, MO metro-region preferred.
Volunteers work 3 hour shifts. Primary need is Weekends and Holidays, between 8AM and midnight. Please visit our website for more information about Safe Connections or to apply, www.safeconnections.org.

The mission of Safe Connections is to reduce the impact and incidence of relationship violence and sexual assault through education, crisis intervention, counseling, and support services.
Description
Safe Connections serves women who at some time in their life have experienced physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. This includes rape victims and victims of domestic violence. We provide a variety of services to women including: long and short term therapy, a 24-hour Crisis Helpline, prevention services admnisistered to teens in the community, and a variety of support groups and educational workshops.
