PAANCI is a social service agency advocating for the protection of children and the elderly. The state of California and mostly all of the United States enacted laws for mandated reporters to report suspected child abuse and neglect, however many persons who have any contact with children in their jobs as teachers, doctors, child care providers, both public and private schools and other school personnel, teacher, counselors, administrators, social workers and therapists, psychologists, law enforcement officers, hospital employees etc.essentially anyone who had any contact with children are required by law to report to law enforcement agencies, and child protection agencies . These aforementioned persons do not have to make reports to the parents of the child victims, but to the appropriate agencies. Please assist us in writing letters to get community support that the State of California and the U.S. Congress should make it a criminal offence regardless of the time frame when a mandated reporter failed to file a suspected child abuse report and that the persons whether they are currently employed with that agency where they worked or previously worked should still be held liable if they failed to make a report regardless of the duration of the offence, from one year to over 40 years if a child's life and safety were impacted due to the negligence and failure of the mandated reporter to make the required report. A drafted letter can be sent to those who are willing to respond. We need signatures of persons who agree this project. with their names and location/ zip codes.
