BECOME A READ ALOUD VOLUNTEER FOR THE DENVER PUBLIC LIBRARY

Do you love reading? Want to have an impact on children's lives?

The city is expanding its Read Aloud Program and we are looking for volunteers that would like to READ TO PRESCHOOLERS in the Montbello and/or Green Valley Ranch schools. The only three requirements are:

  • Committing 12 to 18 weeks to read 30 minutes a week
  • Being able to pass a background check
  • Respecting young children as learners

Times are flexible, as you will pick the school you read at, the day and time. Materials and a mandatory training in August will be provided.

You can find more information and the actual application here: http://kids.denverlibrary.org/grownups/read_aloud.html Just fill it out and we will contact you for a brief interview and provide additional instructions.

Interested but with some questions? Send us an email to rda@denverlibrary.org or call the Early Learning Department at 720-865-1305.
