  • Make a difference in someone's life!
  • Help an adult improve reading and writing skills
  • Help an adult who is learning English with speaking and listening skills
  • Assist learners with developing confidence and a positive attitude about learning
  • Be able to partner with the learner in decisions relating to their learning process and goals
  • Meet weekly for a 90 minute tutoring session
  • After completing training, you will prepare weekly lessons designed for the needs and interests of your learner
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of your learner's progress
  • Complete and turn in a monthly status report
  • Attend monthly Tutor Roundtable meetings to interact with other tutors and get new ideas (optional)

Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
