Volunteers needed to grocery shop for elderly homebound clients. Volunteer calls and gets grocery list from client, shops, and delivers groceries. Volunteer is reimbursed immediately by the client for cost of groceries. Opportunities can be once per week or once per month. All clients live in northeast San Antonio. You will be reimbursed for mileage by NESA after you turn in mileage form. If clients are mobile/ambulatory, you may take them with you shopping, but that is up to you, the shopper. NESA is addressing the impact of COVID-19 by making sure driver and client wears a mask for now. Majority of our clients have had their vaccine.

Mission Statement
Since 1984, the Mission of the Northeast Senior Assistance (NESA) is to assist persons sixty years and beyond living in the northeast San Antonio area who are isolated and lack adequate social support. Volunteers provide needed services, including medical appointment transportation, grocery delivery services, and minor home repairs to help clients live independently in their own homes.
Description
NESA is an ecumenical organization, sponsored by area churches, local business and civic organizations and local government which is designed and organized to deliver the services identified in the mission statement.
We have been apart of the United Way agency since July 2015.
