ORGANIZATION: The Arc of San Diego

Swim Time at Camp

Want to make a DIFFERENCE this summer?! Why not spend a week or two in our local mountains helping out at a summer live-in camp for people with developmental & intellectual disabilities. We are looking for the perfect Camp Counselor who is at least 18 years of age and who would enjoy working in a mountain camp setting, learning new skills and helping people access "the great outdoors". No Experience? No Problem! We provide training. Camp season starts July 9th with training and ends July 25th. Volunteers receive room and board while at camp (you are responsible for your days off lodging), a gift card "thank you" and transportation to and from the camp from our offices in San Diego. Have fun AND make a difference! Camp activities include swimming, hiking, crafts, sports, campfire programs and more! Limited Counselor Aide positions available for person 15 to 17 years of age.

Camp Sessions run 5-6 days in length and require volunteers to be "at camp" for that time. Most people work both sessions, but we can be flexible if you are only available for 1. 2018 camp sessions will be held at the Cuyamaca Outdoor School (San Diego East County).
