Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Monroe County PA has 800 volunteers serving at any of our 85 sites in the county. Come join us. We are assisting in schools, libraries, parks, personal care homes, hospitals, county offices, government and non-profit organizations and agencies. We are knitting lap blankets for veterans and crocheting baby hats at home. You'll find us in the community theaters, in open spaces and recreation areas. We are tapping and singing and dancing to entertain residents at nursing homes. We are driving people to medical appointments and helping them grocery shop. We visit the home-bound and make re-assuring phone calls. We are building ramps for the disabled and doing minor home repairs to keep the elderly and disadvantaged safe and independent in their own homes. Some of us sit down for a while, some of stand for long periods of time, some of us drive, some of us sing - but we all help others do better.

MUST BE OVER AGE 55 To PARTICIPATE*** RSVP, an AMERICORPS SENIORS program, offers a variety of challenging and meaningful volunteer opportunities to Monroe County citizens AGED 55 and older. RSVP enriches the lives of those residents who want to remain active through community service to others. AMERICORPS SENIORS improves lives, strengthens communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) OF MONROE COUNTY, PA provides opportunities for Senior residents 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
