Looking for mentors for our pregnant and parenting moms who are aged 12-24
FamilyWise Bright Beginnings Mentoring Program is in the Twin Cities metro area and we are looking mentors for young (12-24) pregnant and parenting females! Join us and come alongside our young ladies, providing support and friendship, 2-6 hours per month, for at least one year. This mentor relationship helps the young moms with a sense of belonging and they feel important. Our mentors have been helping our young ladies with encouragement, prioritizing what to work on next, organizing their day to day lives, finding resources, encouraging them to stay in school/working on education, and helping them focus on the wellbeing of their children.
Right now most of our mentees are female so we are looking primarily for women mentors, but we also provide mentoring to young men.
Must have completed COVID-19 vaccination and/or will have completed the vaccine before starting.
If you are interested in this opportunity, click the link below and fill out the mentor interest form.

Mission Statement
Strengthening Families by Promoting the Safety, Stability, and Well-being of Children.
Description
FamilyWise is a local nonprofit that helps our community’s most vulnerable children and families. Many of these families come to us with a history of poverty, domestic violence and homelessness. Your volunteering and financial support helps break this cycle of despair and gives them hope for a better future.
Our goal is to promote social change by strengthening families and the community through programs that:
- Educate parents on skills needed to lead stable lives and provide safe homes for their children.
- Empower families to achieve self-sufficiency and to advocate for themselves and their children.
- Enrich the lives of children, youth and families, enabling them to lead healthy, productive family lifestyles.
"Volunteering at FamilyWise opened my eyes to a whole new world where children and families from all walks of life are treated with dignity and respect. It made me feel good to know that I was helping contribute in a meaningful way to the greater good."
