ORGANIZATION: Dress for Success San Antonio

We have a comprehensive Career Center here at Dress for Success San Antonio/Career Gear San Antonio and we need volunteers to assist with Career Center resources. This volunteer position will allow you to help clients develop their job search skills as well as give them the information and advice they need to create a job portfolio that will help them get the job they want. By volunteering in the Career Center, you will give one-on-one assistance with job search, resume writing, interview skills, and career planning. Computer assistance is also offered for free on-line courses to sharpen job skills. This is a great way to help give clients tools they need to go into their interviews prepared and with a great feeling of confidence. If you are ready to see your knowledge put to work in someone else’s life, please let us know.

The mission of Dress for Success San Antonio is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Description

Dress for Success San Antonio improves the lives of low-income children and families by advancing women's economic and social development, and encouraging self-sufficiency through career development and employment retention. We provide appropriate interview attire for women entering the workplace, and a network of working women helps ease the transition. Disadvantaged women acquire jobs, retain their new positions, and succeed in the mainstream workplace by means of this assistance.
