Make comfort blankets for local children in need

Cause Areas

It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.

Individuals and groups alike can help provide comfort to local children in need by making and donating new, handmade, washable blankets in child friendly colors and patterns (or donate supplies for making blankets). Our volunteers (known as "blanketeers") make blankets throughout the year, as there is always a need. One of the most popular projects is the single layer "no-sew" fleece blanket, made of 1-1/2 or 2 yards of "kid-friendly" patterned fleece. Monthly 'gatherings' take place where blanketeers come together to share ideas and completed projects (usually the 4th Tuesday of the month - times vary 1pm or 7pm every other month). We also have drop-in "Sew Days" twice a month (1st Thursday and 3rd Wednesday - see webiste for details) - blanket making of all types takes place there - come enjoy blanket making with other blanketeers. Join us and get new ideas for quilts, crocheted and knitted afghans, fleece and other types of blankets. All are welcome. There are drop-off sites throughout Santa Clara County where you may take your completed projects. For blanket-making instructions, details on 'gathering' dates and times, drop-off site locations and much, much more - see our web site at or contact us at
