A seemingly mundane gift in your eyes can be a gift from heaven to someone in need! Get together with family and friends to assemble welcome baskets. These baskets can include personal grooming items, cleaning supplies, baby items, and bathroom or kitchen supplies. Example: Items in a personal grooming kit could include: bars of soap, shampoo, hair brushes, shaving cream and razors,deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.

Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida (LSS) has been helping refugees resettle in the Jacksonville area since 1980. Refugees are people who have had to flee their home countries due to violence and persecution. They are granted legal refugee status by the United Nations and the U.S. State Department. LSS helps refugees find housing, employment, and connects them with other vital services they need to rebuild their lives in the U.S.
