Transitions volunteers are volunteers who are lined up with patients who do not yet quailify for hospice. You will be asked to call and visit with them at least once a month. Keep in mind that each individual is different in their needs/ wants. Volunteers providing direct patient care must complete an Orientation (3hrs), and Patient / Caregiver Training (5hrs with lunch provided), and a TB test. All volunteers must pass a county criminal background check and fingerprinting. We recommend for those that have lost a loved one wait at least one year before volunteering with patients and families. Ages 18 and up are welcome.
