JOB SUMMARY: Function on a volunteer basis as a dispensing pharmacist for the clinics of Reach Out of Montgomery County. Fill prescriptions written by clinic physicians, counsel patients on the proper use of their medication and maintain appropriate records as required by licensing and regulatory agencies. Collaborate with clinic physicians in choosing most appropriate cost effective pharmaceutical agents. Must be sensitive to the problems and needs of clinic patients when filling their prescriptions.

LICENSURE: Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Ohio and be in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.

Reach Out may provide volunteer liability insurance for those who volunteer a minimum of four times per year, preferably once per month.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have knowledge of prescription drugs and current pharmaceutical care model. Must possess good communication skills and be able to articulate drug information to physicians and patients. Be able to work with formulary concept and make suggestions for same. Must be reliable and able to function as a self-starter.

DUTIES:
1. Dispense prescriptions for patients of the Reach Out clinics.
2. Maintain patient profiles, dispensing records, etc.
3. Counsel patients on proper use of medication. Help patients understand issues of medication compliance, drug interactions with over-the-counter products (OTCs), side effects and potential adverse drug reactions.
4. Assist in teaching patients about disease management and preventive health concepts.
