Project Details

Books & Buddies is a reading program developed to improve literacy skills by partnering students with volunteer mentors acting as reading companions. No experience is necessary.

Books & Buddies is a minimum one-hour weekly commitment throughout the school year. We understand that absences for various reasons will occur, but as much consistency as possible is the goal. Books & Buddies Mentor Centers operate during school hours and will be located in 5 Title 1 schools throughout the valley during the 2024/25 school year, Under additional Info, you will find an Attached Document that shows the locations and times of all our Mentor Centers .

A 1 1/2 hour orientation and a background check (STWN covers the cost) is required to participate in the program.

Orientation sessions are currently being held at two location options and a variety of times for your convenience.
