Help us welcome in the summer at our Grand Avenue shelter by planting flowers, cleaning up the yard, and helping us with general landscaping tasks such as raking and pulling up old bushes. This will be a great way to spend some time out in the sun and make the shelter a more cheerful and welcoming place for our residents. And your work will be admired by much of Saint Paul! This is a one time opportunity great for groups of 5-10 volunteers, and will require about three hours. Women's Advocates is a domestic violence shelter that serves around 1,000 women and children per year.

Description
Women's Advocates is a safe place where battered women and their children can escape domestic violence. In addition to providing shelter, Women's Advocates provides advocacy, personalized support (including mental health therapy and aftercare services), education, and resources for nearly 1,000 women and children every year. The first shelter in the nation for battered women and their children, Women's Advocates opened its doors in 1974. Women's Advocates welcomes women and children of all backgrounds and cultures.
