Communications and Outreach Associates will Support the public relations and marketing functions for the execution of Communication and Outreach Strategy for Caribbean American Heritage Month 2019. Promotions of Activities to begin April 1, 2019 and will include: Diaspora and Development, National Legislative Week, and World Ocean’s Day (June 8). We are looking for a driven Communication and Outreach Talent to attract and interact with targeted communities and coordinate national efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Support Coordination of national efforts related to Caribbean American Heritage Month
- Help coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs and business initiatives
- Draft press releases and prepare presentation material
- Assist in Database Management
- Outreach to various target communities and organizations
- Assist in Creation of communications plan and execution
- Support Social Media Plans
Requirements:
- Degree in public relations, marketing communications or related field
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Interest in public affairs or politics
- Fluency in English
- A commitment of at least four months
