About

Communications and Outreach Specialist will Lead in the execution of Communication and Outreach Strategy for Caribbean American Heritage Month in June. Activities include: Diaspora and Development, National Legislative Week, and World Ocean’s Day (June 8). We are looking for a driven Communication and Outreach Experts to attract and interact with targeted communities and coordinate national efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of national efforts related to Caribbean American Heritage Month
  • Help coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs and business initiatives
  • Draft press releases and prepare presentation material
  • Assist in Database Management
  • Outreach to Caribbean-American businesses
  • Create communications plan and schedule

Requirements:

  • Degree in public relations, marketing communications or related field
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Interest in public affairs or politics
  • Fluency in English
  • A commitment of at least four months
