Help people understand their Medicare health insurance options so they can live a healthier and more financially secure life. You can become a certified counselor or help provide office support for JABA's Insurance Counseling Program. This is a short-term, 8 week commitment Oct-Dec following training. JABA needs 25 new insurance counselors for the Fall 2019 Open Enrollment Season to meet the growing need across Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Louisa, Nelson and Greene. We will train you in everything you need to know!

Description
For almost 50 years, JABA has provided a variety of services to help seniors remain as healthy, active, and independent as possible. Programs include information and referral, education and advocacy, and direct services such as adult care centers, community centers, senior meal programs, care coordinators, health care and health promotion programs, health insurance counseling, volunteer and employment opportunities, and conflict resolution for people in nursing homes and other long-term health care settings. Jaba believes that aging is a lifelong process, which is most successfully done in intergenerational communities.
