Our gift shop volunteers greet and assist guests with purchases, answer the phone, and take orders for gifts going to patients and associates. If you love to shop or help people, this is the place for you! We carry a wide variety of merchandise including fashion clothing, handbags, jewelry, medical uniforms, collegiate items, home fragrances, toys, plants, fresh flowers, candy, magazines, balloons, and much much more! This is an up-beat and cheerful place to serve.
Volunteers serve 4 hour shifts, once per week. Currently we have openings Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm.
Currently all our profits are donated towards our $2 million pledge for Telemedicine equipment which will benefit people all over Oklahoma. With the help of gift shop volunteers, past projects have funded building expansion, digital mammography units, and upgrades to the DaVinci Surgical Robot. Even shopping at the Auxiliary Gift Shop has benefits that support the patients, guests and associates of our health ministry.
About St. John Auxiliary
1923 S. Utica Ave., Tulsa, OK 74104, US
The mission of the St. John Auxiliary is to serve our community with compassionate care and quality support for the patients, families and associates of St. John Medical Center, St. John Owasso, St. John Broken Arrow and St. John Sapulpa.
For more than 60 years, the St. John Auxiliary has provided volunteer services and funded special projects for St. John Health System. Today, volunteers are needed in several different areas within four of our main facilities: St. John Medical Center, St. John Owasso, St. John Broken Arrow and St. John Sapulpa.
The Auxiliary also has a model Junior Volunteer Program designed specifically for high school students, with goals to promote a lifelong commitment to community service and encourage medical career exploration.
Volunteer opportunities range from assisting professional staff in their patient care roles to manning guest services-related areas like our gift shops, information desks and flower delivery. St. John volunteers also greet and comfort families in emergency and surgical waiting areas and help with the patient admission and release processes.
Proceeds from the gift shops go toward special projects of the hospitals, such as wayfinding equipment and facility improvements and expansions, as well as technology like digital mammography units and the da Vinci surgical system that will impact lives in our community for years to come.
