208 South Broadway AvenueSalem, OH 44460

The Salem Historical Society and Museum is looking for docents (tour guides) for our museum complex. We have 13,000 square feet of exhibit space in four adjacent buildings. The collection includes Victoriana, local life of the early 1990's, industry, Underground Railroad and freedoms. Our 'season' runs Sunday afternoons from 1-4pm from May 1 to October 31 although we offer tours year round. We are quite busy in the spring with weekday school tours. Docents guide guests through the museum while educating them about Salem's history and museum artifacts. Individuals should be willing to commit to, at minimum, one Sunday per month. Training is provided.
