Greenwood House Hospice is a non-profit, non-sectarian hospice providing medical and nursing services, social workers, spiritual support, and volunteers to enhance the quality of living for those with terminal diagnosis. We serve patients in Mercer County and are currently in need of compassionate and caring volunteers. There are many rewarding volunteer opportunities available. Training and support is provided. Activities may include patient and family visits, companionship and/or telephone calls; social and sensory stimulation for patients; crafts or handmade items for distribution; musician volunteers; office/clerical support; assistance with our bereavement program.

Description

Greenwood House Hospice is a non-profit organization certified by Medicare and Medicaid where providing hospice and palliative care emphasizes CARE not cure. Patients are served wherever they call home.

Greenwood Hospice supports families as they meet the challenges created by a terminal illness by providing services to both patients and their loved ones so they can concentrate on quality of time spent together.

A team of nurses, social workers, Rabbi or chaplain, home health aides and volunteers work with patients and their loved ones to provide individualized care according to the patient's needs and desires. Bereavement support is provided up to 13 months following the death of a loved one. Greenwood Hospice provides all services without regard to race, religion, national origin, disability, age or sexual orientation.
